-
Do I need a referral to see you?No, you don’t need a referral to book an appointment. Physiotherapists are first-contact practitioners, meaning you can come directly to me. However, if you're claiming through Medicare (EPC/CDM plans), WorkCover, or TAC, a referral may be required. → Book Your Appointment Now
-
Where do you consult from?I consult from Life Ready Physiotherapy, Camberwell. When you book an appointment, you’ll be redirected to Life Ready’s booking system to complete your booking.
-
What should I bring to my appointment? Please bring: Any relevant scans or reports (e.g., MRI, X-ray) Comfortable clothing (shorts for knee assessments, loose pants for hip assessments) Your referral (if applicable)
-

-
How many sessions will I need? The number of sessions depends on your injury, goals, and rehab progress. Some conditions improve in a few sessions, while post-surgical rehab (e.g., ACL reconstruction, hip replacement) often requires a structured program over several months.
-
Do you offer hands-on treatment or exercise-based rehab?I use a combination of hands-on techniques and evidence-based exercise rehabilitation to get the best outcomes. Most hip and knee conditions respond well to targeted strength & mobility work, but manual therapy (massage, joint mobilisations) may also be a necessary part of your treatment.
-
Can physio help me avoid surgery? In many cases, yes. Physiotherapy is often the first-line treatment for conditions like: Knee osteoarthritis (avoiding or delaying total knee replacement) Hip impingement or labral tears ACL injuries (some cases can be rehabbed without surgery) If surgery is necessary, prehab (pre-surgery physiotherapy) improves post-op recovery.
-
How soon after surgery should I start physiotherapy? It depends on your procedure and your surgeon’s protocol. In most cases, we begin gentle rehab after 14 days post-op to help reduce swelling, restore mobility, and prevent stiffness. Emma will guide you through the safest starting point. → Learn more about post surgical physiotherapy
-
Do you accept private health insurance?Yes! If you have physiotherapy extras cover, you can claim a rebate through your health fund. The amount covered depends on your provider and policy.
-
Can I use Medicare to cover my sessions?Medicare only covers physiotherapy if you have an EPC/CDM referral from your GP. This provides up to 5 subsidised sessions per year, but gap payment still applies.
-
What’s your cancellation policy?I require 24 hours' notice for cancellations or reschedules. Late cancellations or no-shows may incur a fee.
